Artists Statement
I am a painter and I create colorful, whimsical landscapes, seascapes as well as other themes and subjects.
I create art as a way of honoring and worshiping GOD. And I share my art as a way of offering to others my unique vision of beauty and joy.
The style and techniques I utilize are just the easiest and most straight forward means of doing that.
A Brief Bio
Painting is Ed McCarthy’s passion, something he has been doing for most of his life. Ed was born in New York City in the 1950’s. He entered his first art show in 1966, sponsored by WCBS-TV, at the ripe age of nine.
Ed McCarthy met his wife, Jean a nurse, on Long Island, NY, they married and settled down in Colorado in 1980 and raised a family of 3 children, all of whom now have families of their own. The move to Colorado was a tremendous inspiration and influenced much of Ed’s landscape art, a long and challenging journey which has has allowed him the opportunity to grow creatively and to eventually be represented by various galleries in Colorado,
New Mexico, Wyoming and Florida. Ed and his family experienced a seven year stint in Florida which added a whole new range of subject matter as well, adding his own pointillistic twist to tropical themes.
In 2015 Ed McCarthy and family returned to Colorado.
Ed has participated in a vast number of shows, exhibits and events and has received countless awards and accolades. In addition, Ed’s art is owned by collectors world wide.
