I was born and raised on an island, Long Island, New York. Even though my part on New York was Jackson Heights, Queens, which is literally on the exact same island, folks there like to differentiate the “city from the island,” by saying weird stuff like “I’m moving out to the island! Regardless, I was surrounded by water. And that made an impact on my art.”
